First project in Chicago by the New York based Morris Adjmi Architects (MA). The design of the 31-story residential tower balances the industrial history of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood with the city’s reach modernist tradition in a striking and original look. RKO provided Design Assist services for the building envelope from the Design Development phase through Construction.
An interpretation of classic Chicago modernism inspired by industrial architecture, this rental tower in the West Loop is wrapped in a layered metal grid and sits on a parking podium clad in metal screening of surprising depth and complexity. The two primary volumes that constitute this 31-story rental building balance the industrial history of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood with the city’s rich Modernist tradition.
The tower is clad in interwoven metal channels that recall the slender I-beams rising up Mies van der Rohe’s Lake Shore Drive Apartments. A secondary grid of metal panels subdivides the glass bays of floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a composition that echoes the façades of nearby warehouses and former manufacturing buildings.
The building’s podium more directly reflects the West Loop’s context with ground-floor retail spaces and warm brick cladding that complements the existing streetscape. Above, three levels of parking are wrapped in perforated metal panels accented with metal cross bracing to give the garage a surprising depth and complexity. A large roof terrace transitions into the tower’s light-filled amenity spaces and offers views of the rapidly transforming neighborhood.

Striking new luxury residential 34-story tower designed by Goettsch Partners (GP) in downtown Nashville, adjacent to the Amazon anchored Nashville Yards development. RKO provided Design Assist services for the building envelope from Design Development phase through Construction
Located in the heart of downtown Nashville at 900 Church Street, the 36-story Alcove Tower is Nashville’s most recognizable luxury residential high-rise. Developer Girarratana and Architect Goettsch Partners designed a tower of stacked structures with projecting and shifting geometries. This result is a singular focus of proportional musculature and is one-of-a-kind in form.
This tower however has as much beauty as it has brawn, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling glass and stunning shared alcoves which is the tower’s namesake, creating both beautiful and intimate spaces. The Alcove stands 416 feet tall, offers 356 units; and is packed with exclusive luxury amenities such as rooftop Nashville’s only cantilevered fully clear pool nearly 400 feet above street level.
For the Alcove, Reflection Window + Wall provided approximately 190,000 square feet of our 12000 window wall systems, including projected metal tapered pillow panels. The Alcove was completed in 2023.
